The League has a long history of service to Midland area voters. Voter service activities are at the core of its mission. Every election year since 1969, the Midland Area League has led Voter Registration Projects, printed Voter Guides for every major election, facilitated and broadcast Candidate Forums and contributed Vote 411, an on-line, non-partisan information guide to candidates for office.

As a part of the state and national Leagues, the Midland League participates in studies leading to consensus in the development of positions on public policy on a variety of areas including Healthcare, Election Law, the Great Lakes ecosystems, Public Education, Redistricting and the National Popular Vote for President.

Observer Corps observes public meetings of government organizations such as the School Board, the Board of Canvassers and the City and County Commissioners. The objective is to ensure that decisions made by these organizations are transparent and that they are accountable to the public.

The League also presents local educational programs each year for members and the general public. These may include presentations by elected or appointed officials, experts on political topics or local citizens with expertise in areas of interest.
